On the occasion of the 20 th anniversary of the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan in the Transcarpathian town of Mukachevo on the initiative of the Board Mukachevo basketball club veterans «Impulse» and Mukachevo City Union soldiers, veterans of the Afghan war and other local conflicts (chairman Vitaly Semenchuk) held an open basketball tournament for the transition Cup Soldiers-internationalists.
At the commemorative building contest participants welcomed the parties to the Afghan war, in particular, the platoon commander of special forces, a senior Warrant Officer Valery Voronov, Head of the Youth and Sports, Mayor Eugene Ovsiannikov.
A minute of silence in the room paid tribute to all those who died performing their duty soldier. During seven hours of eleven teams from Uzhgorod, Chopa, Svalyava, Mukachevo waged an uncompromising struggle for the honor goblet. In the tense final game veterans «Impulse» 5 seconds winning throw the ball to Cart BC «Fisher-Mukachevo» fifth year in a row and became the honorary Cup. The third place result in 30:24 won the team «Lokomotiv» with g.Chop, which defeated the resistance BC «Vympel» from the regional center.
Following the tournament the best «snipers» Yuri became Mayngast - 66 points (BC «Fisher-Mukachevo»), Alexey Golovanov - 43 points (BC «Lokomotiv» g.Chop), Carl Babati - 32 points (BC «Fisher-Mukachevo). The best player was found Victor Kvasha (MBKV «Impulse».
From the organizers of the tournament team who will prizes, were awarded diplomas and medals, and the best «snipers» and the players - diplomas and prizes.
